01 / PLANNING
Choose a minimum operating mode
A small office near Asheville may prioritize scheduling and payments; a rural workshop may need dispatch and supplier access. List those workflows in order. The backup plan should state which traffic stays available and which activity can wait, rather than claiming that every system continues unchanged.
02 / PLANNING
Review the site and the equipment room together
A suitable dish position can be separated from the firewall by trees, elevation or an inconvenient building entry. Provide both locations during the review. A quote that covers only outdoor equipment can leave a gap before the business network is actually connected.
03 / PLANNING
Plan for loss of mains power
Describe existing UPS equipment or other backup power and which devices it supplies. Satellite does not remove the need for local electricity. An agreed failover exercise should test applications, restore the primary connection and record who to contact when the equipment reports a fault.
| Part of the project | Information that helps |
|---|---|
| Continuity scope | Essential applications and acceptable interruption |
| Integration scope | Firewall owner, handoff and change permissions |
| Test record | Observed behavior, limitations and restoration steps |
