01 / PLANNING
Look at candidate positions, not just the roof peak
A house near Brevard or Waynesville may sit beneath trees even when its roof is high. Use the Starlink app from safely accessible candidate locations and describe the surrounding ridgeline or canopy. The review should compare viable positions instead of prescribing a taller mount without evidence.
02 / PLANNING
Balance reception with access
Moving the dish away from the house can introduce difficult cable protection, power needs or maintenance access. Give the route from the driveway to the equipment location and explain any steps, steep ground or restricted approach. An installation that cannot be serviced easily may be a poor long-term choice.
03 / PLANNING
Keep weatherproofing in the written scope
Roof penetrations, exterior fixings and the building entry should have named materials and a responsible installer. If a roofer, electrician or structural review is needed, identify that dependency before scheduling. Those requirements cannot be determined from the regional name alone.
| Part of the project | Information that helps |
|---|---|
| Sky-view evidence | Ground-level app checks and a description of the canopy |
| Access evidence | Driveway, slope and safe work positions |
| Indoor objective | Rooms where coverage must be checked |
