01 / THE PROJECT
The challenge: everyday work depended on an unreliable connection
The rural warehouse outside Decatur needed internet for inventory management, shipping platforms, cloud administration and communications with customers and suppliers. Inconsistent access interrupted routine tasks and pushed staff toward manual workarounds. The fixed-line and fixed wireless options assessed for the property did not meet the project’s requirements and timeframe.
02 / THE PROJECT
Plan the installation around the working warehouse
RNP began with a site survey and safety walkthrough, reviewing the building layout, access, potential obstructions and existing network equipment. The team selected a mounting position with a clear sky view and planned the cable route into the building. Weather exposure, loading activity, vehicle movements and staff access all informed the plan. Work was coordinated around the warehouse’s operating schedule.
03 / THE PROJECT
Connect the equipment to the places people work
The Starlink equipment was mounted and cabling routed and protected along the agreed path. RNP then integrated the connection with the existing internal network, considering wired connections and Wi-Fi requirements for office workstations and operational devices. The scope covered both the internet connection and access to it within the agreed working areas.
04 / THE PROJECT
Test the working setup and hand it over
Testing covered internet access, the essential business applications and connectivity in the agreed areas. The handover explained the installed equipment, basic troubleshooting and support arrangements. Further coverage needs and future network improvements could then be assessed against the completed setup.
THE OUTCOME
What changed for the team.
The completed installation gave the warehouse a usable connection where previous options had fallen short. RNP’s project summary records these operational improvements:
Access to daily systems
The project summary reports more consistent access to inventory and shipping tools, helping staff carry out the work that depended on those systems.
Fewer manual workarounds
The warehouse could use shared cloud tools and communicate with customers and suppliers without relying on the same workarounds used with the previous connection.
A base for future network work
The installed connection and network integration provided a starting point for assessing additional access points, devices or resilience measures as requirements evolve.
